Privacy policy

This policy explains what Lohith Chundi ("StackClose", "we") collects when we find and contact local businesses, when you use stackclose.com, and when you're a customer, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Public business information: business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, hours, ratings and descriptions, from public sources like Google Maps and your own website.
• Contact details: names, email addresses and phone numbers, whether public or given to us by you.
• Your messages with us: emails, texts, chats on this site, form submissions and phone calls. Calls with our AI assistant are recorded and transcribed.
• What you send for your site: your logo, photos and any text or details you share.
• Payment details: handled by Stripe. We receive things like your name, email, phone and billing status, but never your full card number.
• Basic technical data: IP address and browser details when you use our forms or chat, which we use to prevent spam and abuse. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers. The chat keeps a random ID in your browser so a conversation can continue across pages.

Why we use it

• To find local businesses that might want a website, and to contact them about our service.
• To answer your questions and messages.
• To build, host and support your website.
• To take payments and send receipts and service messages.
• To keep our service secure and prevent abuse.
• To follow the law, including honoring requests to stop contacting you.

Who helps us

We share information only with the companies that help us run StackClose, and only what each one needs to do its job:

• Stripe: payments and billing
• Cloudflare: hosting, our database, email routing and domain registration
• Anthropic: the AI that writes our messages and builds sites
• Instantly: sending email
• Linq: text messages
• Retell: AI phone calls
• Resend: email delivery
• Google: business listings from Google Maps, and our email
• Twilio: checking whether a phone number is a landline or a mobile
• Meta: conversations, if you message our Facebook page

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If StackClose is ever sold or merged, this information would pass to the new owner under this policy.

We don't sell your information

We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

How long we keep it

We keep information as long as we need it for the reasons above: for customers, while you're a customer and for a reasonable time after for our records. We keep opt-out requests indefinitely, so we never contact you again by mistake.

Texts, calls and our AI assistant

When you check "OK for texts and calls" (on our contact form or anywhere else we ask), you agree that StackClose may text and call the number you gave us about your website: answering your questions, sending your preview, your edits and your bill, and following up.

• It's an AI. Our texts, chats, emails and calls may come from StackClose's AI assistant, not a person. On calls it uses an AI (artificial) voice, and it always tells you it's an AI.
• Calls are recorded and transcribed so we can follow up on what you asked for.
• Texts: message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.
• Calls: tell the assistant you don't want calls, or reply STOP to a text, and it stops.
• Optional. You don't have to agree to texts or calls to buy anything from us.
• Mistakes: AI can get things wrong. Anything important (prices, what's on your site) is confirmed in writing before it happens, and a person at StackClose reviews problems. Email hello@stackclose.com any time.

Your choices

• Email: reply "unsubscribe" or "stop" to any email from us.
• Texts: reply STOP to any text. Reply HELP for help.
• Calls: tell our assistant you don't want calls, and it will stop.
• If you're not a customer and ask us to stop on any channel, we stop contacting you on every channel. Customers who stop texts still get essential service messages by email.
• To see, correct or delete the information we have about you, email hello@stackclose.com.

Security

We use established providers and limit who and what can access your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.

Children

StackClose is a service for businesses. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date above.
